China-based purchasing agents — third-party platforms that buy items from Chinese marketplaces like 1688 and Taobao on your behalf. You submit a link, the agent purchases using their own Chinese payment method, holds the item in their warehouse, inspects it on request, and ships to your country through an international courier. They exist primarily because most foreign buyers can't pay Chinese platforms directly.

What does the agent actually charge?

Three things: (1) the item price paid to the source platform, (2) a service fee of roughly 5% of the item price, usually capped, (3) international freight, calculated by weight and destination. All three are quoted before you commit — nothing is billed until you confirm the quote.
How long does the whole thing take?

If inspection photos reveal a defect before the parcel ships, reject it and the agent refunds 100% to your wallet. Once the parcel has left the warehouse, refunds depend on the agent's after-dispatch policy — usually limited to major faults that the warehouse inspection missed.
Will I have to pay customs duty?
Depends on your country and the declared value. The agent lets you choose a declared value when shipping. Some lanes (US with low declared value) may have duty thresholds that let small parcels through duty-free; others (EU with no threshold) generally charge VAT on the declared value plus freight.
